Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer for a DevOps focused position. In this position, the DevOps Software Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing and monitoring live production operations to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of GHOSTGEM's software application suite, including DINO. Responsibilities include identifying, diagnosing, and responding to service disruptions, performance degradation, and operational issues, performing basic troubleshooting and corrective actions, supporting system sustainment activities, and collaborating with development and operations teams to maintain system health, improve operational efficiency, and support continuous service delivery.

Clearance

A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Masters degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity or bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity or seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI and Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash
• Recent Python (3.x) software development experience
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
• Distributed logging and monitoring (ELK Stack, Prometheus/Grafana)
• Familiar with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Familiar with Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks including RabbitMQ
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System

Desired skills

• Experience with SQL databases including PostgreSQL
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence
