Job summary

Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) invites undergraduates for a 10-week summer internship with NSA in Catonsville, MD, focused on high-performance computing (HPC). You will work under NSA researchers, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to HPC projects.

Selected students will receive a stipend of $1,000 per week, with travel and housing provided for eligible participants, and health insurance through ORISE. Applications close 10/31/2026 at 11:59 PM ET.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student at a U.S. institution.
• Graduating December 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong coursework in mathematics, computer science or related STEM fields.
• Interest in HPC and NSA research.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with NSA HPC team to solve future computing problems.
• Gain skills in areas relevant to HPC under mentorship.
• Present results to NSA researchers and project communities.
