The University of Utah’s Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC) seeks a Research Computing Security Architect to lead security architecture for its HPC environments. You will define patterns, patterns for Linux HPC clusters, containers, storage, and high-speed networks to satisfy federal standards, and collaborate with S&C and GRC teams.

Qualifikationen

• Experience translating federal cybersecurity standards into architectural blueprints and controls.
• Deep understanding of Linux-based HPC environments and security patterns.
• Familiarity with security monitoring, logging, and incident response disciplines.

Aufgaben

• Develop and own the security architecture and roadmap for HPC systems.
• Define reusable security patterns for Linux HPC clusters, schedulers, containers, storage, and networks to meet standards.
• Collaborate with monitoring and infrastructure teams on logging, telemetry, and incident detection.
• Lead threat modeling to ensure security-by-design before deployment.
• Communicate architectural risks and tradeoffs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
