Job summary

TALENT Software Services in Austin is seeking a Private Cloud HPC Network Engineer to join a greenfield on-prem OpenStack platform. You will design, deploy and operate a high-performance network landscape that underpins HPC workloads, collaborating with compute, storage and platform teams to deliver a scalable, automated cloud fabric.

The role emphasizes leaf-spine architectures, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, and fast interconnects (RoCE/InfiniBand).

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting high-performance compute environments.
• Hands-on with RoCE, RDMA or Infiniband in Cisco NX-OS/Arista EOS.
• Practical knowledge of OpenStack network services and API-driven automation.
• Strong HPC network observability and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve network architecture for large-scale Private Cloud OpenStack and HPC environments.
• Develop scalable Leaf-Spine architectures using BGP, EVPN, VXLAN and ECMP.
• Plan networking for compute, storage and latency-sensitive workloads; assess SR-IOV, DPUs.
• Integrate physical network with OpenStack Neutron, OVN and ML2; define VM/bare-metal/Kubernetes networking.
• Lead network security architecture and cross-domain collaboration across compute, storage and HPC apps.
