Job summary

UCAR's Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) seeks a Student Assistant to join the CIRRUS platform team in Boulder. You will verify workflows, improve documentation usability, and build hands-on experience in cloud-native platform operations and HPC infrastructure.

You will work with engineers and researchers to ensure platform reliability, learn Kubernetes-based operations, and develop scalable workflows.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled and intend to enroll for credit in an accredited school.
• Basic familiarity with Linux and containers (Docker/Podman).
• Ability to work with a team and convey technical concepts to engineers and platform users.
• Good oral and written communication skills; clear technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Test and verify platform workflows, new functionality, and documentation before release.
• Develop and maintain reusable workflows to validate workloads onboarded to CIRRUS.
• Document workflows so others can reuse them; write and edit CIRRUS documentation for scientific users.
• Gain experience with CIRRUS platform operations under supervision; support HPC workloads.
