Job summary

Hamilton Barnes partners with a global leader to hire a Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance network infrastructure powering mission-critical trading environments.

This hands-on role focuses on ultra-low latency, high-throughput networks, data centre scale, and automation via scripting. You’ll mentor engineers and shape architecture across global locations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale or data centre networks.
• Expertise in BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, spine-leaf architectures and multicast.
• Experience with high-performance switches and platforms (Arista, Cisco, NVIDIA/Cumulus, SONiC).
• Strong understanding of network architecture, capacity planning and large-scale design.
• Proficiency with packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).
• Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.

• Design, deploy, and optimise large-scale data centre and HPC networks.
• Build and support high-performance, low-latency infrastructure across global locations.
• Drive improvements in scalability, performance, reliability and capacity planning.
• Automate network operations through scripting and tooling improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 issues in distributed environments.
• Develop technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers while influencing future network strategy.

We’re partnering with a global leader in high-frequency trading to hire an experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, build, and scale the next generation of high-performance network infrastructure powering mission-critical trading environments.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work on some of the most advanced networking challenges in the industry, supporting ultra-low latency, high-throughput environments where performance, resilience, and precision are critical.

You’ll play a key role in shaping network architecture, delivering large-scale data centre solutions, and working alongside world-class engineers to build infrastructure that operates at the cutting edge of technology and finance.

What you'll be doing:
