Job summary

UT-Battelle's NCCS at ORNL seeks an HPC Linux Systems Engineer to improve security, performance, and reliability of NCCS computing environments, including Frontier and other clusters.

In the HPC Scalable Systems Group you will install, integrate, and administer HPC Linux clusters, diagnose issues, coordinate with vendors, and participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation, with emphasis on change management and automation.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field and 5+ years of Linux systems experience.
• Experience in classified environments with security policies (NIST, STIGs).
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install, integrate, and administer HPC Linux clusters and networks.
• Diagnose operational problems quickly and coordinate with vendors.
• Port and write system management tools and document procedures.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support and change management.
