Job summary

University of Maryland, College Park, invites applications for an HPC Engineer within the Division of Information Technology (DIT). The engineer will design, deploy, maintain, and operate enterprise HPC resources, Linux-based, across multiple sites (College Park and McLean) and travel as needed.

The role requires expertise in HPC architectures, parallel file systems, schedulers, Infiniband/Ethernet networking, and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of professional HPC engineering or systems design experience.
• Experience with HPC architectures and security/compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate enterprise HPC resources.
• Maintain Linux-based hardware and software stacks across sites (College Park, MD and McLean, VA).
• Collaborate nationally with the HPC community and present at conferences.
• Work with industry providers to stay abreast of HPC developments and best practices.
• Travel between locations as required and occasionally work after hours.
