Job summary

Eventual Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Systems Engineer for the Dataloading team to turn multi-petabyte video corpora into tensors on GPUs at line rate. You’ll work with labs and AI partners on NVMe caching, streaming data paths, and scalable loaders to keep GPUs fed during large-scale model training.

You’ll grow with NVL72, CUDA, and SLURM, shaping data movement across NVMe, memory, and network. If slow systems upset you and you love low-latency pipelines, join our SF office four days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong systems programming skills in Rust, C++, or C.
• Experience with GPU data pipelines and high-throughput IO.
• Familiarity with io_uring and low-latency memory hierarchies.
• Experience with Linux performance tuning and NUMA awareness.
• Hands-on CUDA experience and GPU data loading exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the video-native dataloader delivering tensors to the GPU.
• Profile and optimize the data path from object store → NVMe → memory to device RAM.
• Saturate hardware on customer training jobs and push bandwidth requirements.
• Collaborate with labs to land the loader in their training stacks.
• Work cross-team with Storage Infrastructure and model-output ingestion paths.
