D2 Technical Services in Springfield, VA seeks an HPC Infrastructure & Cluster Engineer to own the dedicated compute cluster end‑to‑end. You will ensure high availability, security, and optimized hardware foundations for complex customer workloads.

The role emphasizes Linux systems administration, OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, and AI orchestration with Run:AI and SLURM, while maintaining compliance and robust network storage configurations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux systems administration and infra management in HPC environments.
• Experience with bare‑metal servers, enterprise storage, and high‑speed networks.
• Proficiency with OpenShift or Kubernetes and AI orchestration tools.
• Automation scripting in Bash or Python and incident/problem resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Cluster administration: Linux OS, hardware monitoring, patching, upgrades.
• Manage workload distribution with Run:AI and SLURM for AI/ML workloads.
• Tune performance across hardware, OS, and network layers for efficiency.
• Administer storage and InfiniBand network infrastructure.
• Provision environments and container platforms (OpenShift) for models.
• Ensure security, compliance, and accreditation controls for infra.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, network, and OS issues.
