Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a HPC Linux Systems Specialist to maintain and optimize on‑prem HPC/Linux infrastructure and drive performance improvements. You will help identify problem areas and opportunities for advancement in mission-critical systems for a government client.

You will work to ensure secure, reliable operation, with responsibilities spanning automation, monitoring, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with Bash/Perl/Python scripting.
  • 5+ years Linux admin incl provisioning, updates, filesystems, user accounts, kernel modules.
  • Experience with HPC batch systems (SGE/LSF/Slurm).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for HPC environments.
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring and improvements.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

You Have:

5+ years of experience with systems automation scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python

5+ years of experience with Linux systems administration, including automated OS provisioning, sof tware updates and package management, user accounts management, filesystems and access management, compiling sof tware and kernel modules, versioning, or environment modules

Experience configuring, deploying, and managing batch queueing systems for HPC clusters such as SGE, LSF, or Slurm

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing HPC environments

Knowledge of system performance monitoring and actions that can be taken to improve or correct performance

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Nice If You Have:

Experience coordinating with change control and environment management, network, and security teams

Experience in automation of server deployment, common tasks, and installation procedures

Experience developing systems monitoring dashboards and using monitoring tools

Experience with containers such as Singularity or Docker

Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
