Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking an Aerothermodynamics Engineer to lead development of CFD software for HPC platforms at NASA Ames, Mountain View. The role focuses on scientific software development, HPC modernization of NASA tools, and porting CPU/MPI apps to GPUs.

You will work with engineers to translate mission needs into numerical algorithms, implement them efficiently on modern hardware, and contribute to verification, validation, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in aerospace/related field.
• Experience with massively parallel CFD solvers on Linux-based HPC systems.
• Familiarity with scale-resolving or high-fidelity methods (RANS-LES, LES, DNS).
• Experience programming for engineering analysis (Python/Fortran/C++).

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-physics aerothermodynamics simulation software for HPC platforms.
• Prepare geometries, meshes, inputs, and establish best practices.
• Run CFD simulations on HPC systems and monitor performance.
• Post-process results for convective and radiative environments.
• Document methods, configurations, and results for reports and publications.
