Job summary

Resource Label Group in Dallas, TX is seeking a Digital Press Operator to set up and run the HP Digital printing press for pressure sensitive labels. This on-site role offers hands-on training and a clear path to develop a skilled printing trade.

The 2nd shift (4:00pm-2:30am, Mon-Thurs) emphasizes accuracy, color calibration, and efficient operations. Candidates should have prior HP press experience and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years related experience or equivalent
• 2 years HP digital press experience in a printing environment or HP certifications (level 2+), preferably web press
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals
• Must be able to read rulers, scales and other measurement devices.
• Frequent standing/walking; able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Color vision and depth perception as part of vision requirements

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality labels to meet job specifications and customer standards
• Inputs data including time and materials used into job management software
• Reads job order and loads jobs into press with correct primers, tint rollers, stocks, counts, and color strategies
• Starts press, verifies stock alignment, color calibrations, and sizing; inspect for imperfections and adjust as needed
• Adjusts color to verify accuracy; X-rite/I1 knowledge is a plus
• Cuts and saves a full sample from each printed item for library and ticket
• Assist with finishing operations and duties as necessary
• Communicate job specifics or changes to supervisor in a timely manner to minimize downtime
• Report production or press downtime to supervisor promptly
• Keeps inventory usage accurate at all times
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required; basic technician part changes when needed
• Keeps work areas clean and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Press Operator to join our team! The Digital Press Operator sets up and operates the HP Digital printing press to produce pressure sensitive labels and related products.

2nd Shift - 4:00pm-2:30am Mon-Thurs (10 hours)

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality labels to meet the job specifications outlined on the label order to match customer standards
• Inputs data including time and materials used into job management software
• Reads job order and load jobs into press, with correct primers, tint roller’s, stocks, counts, and color strategies
• Starts press, verifying correct stock, alignment of stock, color calibrations, and sizing of piece before printing order, must inspect for imperfections and makes adjustments as necessary before printing order.
• Adjusts color as necessary to verify color acracy of finished piece. X-rite / I1 table knowledge a plus
• Cut, and save a full sample from each printed item. For sample library and ticket.
• Assist with finishing operations and duties as necessary
• Communicates job specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime
• Report any production or press down time issues to supervisor in a timely manner
• Keeps inventory usage accurate at all times
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required, with basic technician part changes when needed
• Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two years or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Two years of previous experience operating a HP digital press in a printing environment, and or proof of level 2 or higher certifications from HP, preferably web press (4-6 series equipment)
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Must be able to read and interpret ruler, scales and other measurement devices.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and is required to walk
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
