Job summary

Cemex US in Houston seeks a Manager Transportation – Trucking to lead third-party truck management, forging long-term carrier relationships and driving KPIs for safety, service, cost and sustainability.

You will oversee RFQs, scorecards, CO2 monitoring and TMS optimization, with a focus on end-to-end supply chain excellence and data-driven decisions. The role is office-based with strategic cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in transportation and/or supply chain roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Management, Procurement or Engineering.
• Bulk truck transportation market and processes knowledge.
• End-to-end supply chain processes proficiency.
• Ability to understand transportation requirements and translate them into solutions.
• Ability to apply end-to-end supply chain concepts.
• Ability to manage data and develop concepts and information (strong analytical skills).
• Knowledge in SAP, TMS and analytical tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
• APICS certification or SCOR knowledge (a plus).
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Manage Carrier RFQs, selection and vetting process.
• Manage Carrier Strategic Route Guide and Zero‑Cost based reporting.
• Develop and monitor Carrier Scorecards (service, cost, safety).
• Gather market intelligence to drive strategic decisions for RFQs and best practices.
• Responsible for developing and monitoring CO2 emissions for 3rd party carriers.
• Lead best practices utilization of the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Implement Freight Payment Audit solutions to reduce risk.
