Job description

Houston Methodist OBGYN Residency Academic Program Physician
Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN physician with at least five years of experience to join the core faculty of our Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency program. The program, primarily located and based at St. Joseph Medical Center, has five residents per year for a total of 20. Texas A&M Medical Students also rotate and participate in our resident training and education activities. Qualifications

  • Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Prior administrative and academic preceptorship experience in graduate medical education strongly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Active leadership, engagement, and oversight of the daily clinical needs for Obstetrics and Gynecology patients at St. Joseph Medical Center and the St. Joseph Women’s Clinic
  • The position is approximately 20% direct patient care, 70% teaching/supervision of the OBGYN residents, and 10% administrative.
  • Night and weekend call is shared with the other HMPO OB/GYN Residency Faculty physicians and a local private practice OBGYN. A minimum of one 14-hour weekday and one 24-hour weekend call period is required each month.
