Job summary

Nexus Disposal in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled Groundskeeper / Handyman to maintain company properties, buildings, and grounds. This role blends landscaping with general maintenance and minor repairs, requiring hands-on ability and self-motivation.

Responsibilities include mowing, pruning, irrigation upkeep, basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and completing work orders. A valid Texas driver's license and at least five years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, facility maintenance, handyman services, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and maintenance practices.
• Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repair work.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas.
• Plant, water, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
• Apply mulch, fertilizer, and soil amendments as needed.
• Remove weeds, overgrown vegetation, and debris from company property.
• Maintain irrigation and sprinkler systems, including basic repairs and troubleshooting.
• Perform seasonal landscaping projects and property beautification efforts.
• Keep parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and common areas clean and presentable.
• Remove storm debris, fallen branches, and other property hazards.
• Operate and maintain riding lawn mower and other equipment.
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance on company buildings and facilities.
• Repair doors, locks, gates, fencing, windows, drywall, flooring, and fixtures.
• Install shelving, signs, office furniture, and miscellaneous equipment.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and repairing leaks.
• Perform basic electrical work such as replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs (within skill level and local regulations).
• Paint, patch, and repair walls, ceilings, and other building surfaces.
• Assist with office renovations, facility improvements, and special projects.
• Pressure wash buildings, sidewalks, equipment, and outdoor work areas.
• Conduct routine inspections of company property and report maintenance concerns.
