Job summary

5 STAR Event Services is seeking fun and safety-minded individuals to join our guest services team for upcoming sports and music events in Houston. This is permanent PART TIME, hourly employment with opportunities to work a variety of venues.

Duties include enforcing venue policies, monitoring entry points, performing bag checks, greeting guests, directing seating, handling complaints, and assisting with evacuations if needed. Evening and weekend shifts are common.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Strong customer-service orientation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Enforce and uphold integrity of areas; monitor entry and exit points.
• Perform bag checks and screenings of guests and their credentials.
• Greet and direct guests to seating and services.
• Maintain open access routes for patrons and walkways.
• Receive and respond to patron complaints per policies.
• Support evacuation and security escorts as required.

5 STAR Event Services is looking for fun and safety people to join our guest services team for upcoming sports & music events for permanent PART TIME, hourly employment.Check out our current Event Calendar here: www.5starstaff.com/calendarDescription: Event Staff and Security Officers are responsible for the safety and comfort of all clients, guests and other employees.Pay Range: $13.00 and up/per hourDuties:Enforce and uphold the integrity of public and private areas of the job locationMonitor entry and exit points to specific areasPerform routine search/inspection procedures including bag checks and screening of guests and their tickets, credentials, etc. prior to guest entry to ensure that no prohibited items enterGreet and direct guests to seating areas and various servicesMaintain open and smooth access routes of patron/vehicle walkwaysReceive and act on complaints from patrons according to policies and proceduresEnforce all policies and procedures throughout the facility and report any suspicious behaviors or activityAide in the direction of orderly evacuation of the building during emergenciesProvide security escorts per event requirementsQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The employee must also possess the following qualifications:High School diploma or GED equivalentAt least 18 years of ageReliable forms of communication and transportationLEVEL 2 SECURITY LICENSE (Level II Training & Exam provided for free. All applicants are required to apply, pass exam, submit to fingerprinting, and criminal background check.)Skills and Abilities:A strong customer-service attitude and professional appearancePossess excellent written and oral communication skillsThe ability to understand and interpret credentials, documents, signs, rules, policies, and instructionsThe ability to communicate effectively with clients, patrons and other employeesThe ability to multi-task, cross-train and learn new skills quicklyThe ability to remain calm and level-headed under high-pressure situationsPhysical Requirements:Full physical and mental dexterity with the ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, hear, see and speak English clearlyThe ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time (shift duration)The ability to lift 25lbs.Work Environment:Elevated noise levels. Athletic and musical events can be very loud, and employees must be prepared to be exposed to increased noise levels. Ear plugs are available upon request.An energetic and fast-paced environmentCrowds (as in lots of people)Working outdoor venues. Some of the events we work take place outside or in open-air venues and take place rain or shine.
