Job summary

Heartland Family Service in Omaha, NE seeks a Housing Search Specialist for the Rapid Rehousing program. You will work with landlords to help participants locate, obtain, and retain housing, including coordinating move‑in, applications, and income verification. Travel to communities is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in human service field or HS diploma with four years experience in human services or property management
• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Equivalent combination of education/experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in weekly team meetings with program staff to review housing barriers and service needs
• Assist clients in identifying housing needs and budgeting for housing costs
• Assist clients in identifying strengths, needs, and goals to develop an individualized housing stability plan
• Assist in locating, obtaining, and retaining housing including housing search, applications, and coordinating move-in processes
• Maintain contact with landlords regarding applications, showings, and lease signings
• Collaborate with landlords to maximize housing unit utilization and aid program participants
