Job summary

Lantern Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Housing Stability Specialist in the Bronx to support tenants in Lantern’s supportive housing programs.

You will handle intake, leasing compliance, rent coordination, and tenant engagement while collaborating with clinical staff and property management. The role requires working with vulnerable populations, understanding housing subsidies, and maintaining organized records to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience with vulnerable populations, including homelessness or related challenges, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of housing regulations (LIHTC, Section 8, NYCHA, HPD, DHCR) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality service to residents and applicants via calls, messages, and emails.
• Maintain accurate tenant files with subsidy documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Manage vacancies per Lantern policies and coordinate with site teams.
• Assist with rent collection coordination and reporting.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and property management for a safe housing environment.
