Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee in New York City seeks a dedicated professional to assist Independent Living Specialists in obtaining supportive housing for clients. You will escort clients to medical, benefits, and housing appointments, and help prepare housing packets.

You will document interactions in CARES and AWARDS, compile reports for DHS and BRC, and coordinate data. The role requires strong communication, a team approach, and CPR certification or willingness to obtain training.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred for the role.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years' experience working with homeless, mentally ill, or MICA population required.
• Excellent client advocacy skills also required.
• Liaison experience with external stakeholders preferred.
• Knowledge of NY/NY supportive housing system strongly preferred.
• Good writing and oral communication skills and computer proficiency needed.
• Must possess the ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
• CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.

Hours

Full time 37.5 hours per week
Sunday-Thursday 10am-6:30pm
