Qualifications

HireUp Talent is seeking Housing Specialists at multiple levels (II, and III) to support subsidized housing programs, including Public Housing (PH), Housing Choice Voucher (HCV), and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs. This role focuses on processing eligibility, conducting client interviews, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining accurate records.

This position is remote with travel requirements and requires the candidate to reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, IL, FL, MD, MT, NC, NJ, NY, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, or VA.

The Pay Structure For This Role Is As Follows

  • Housing Specialist II: $18.94 per hour
  • Housing Specialist III: $21.94 per hour

This is an hourly position, and employees are eligible for overtime in accordance with federal, state, and local labor laws.

Key Responsibilities

Level 2 – Housing Specialist (Mid-Level)

  • Perform all Level I responsibilities with greater independence and efficiency.
  • Handle more complex eligibility cases and transactions.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Ensure compliance by staying updated on housing policies and regulations.
  • Provide advanced guidance and support to clients navigating the housing process.

Level 3 – Senior Housing Specialist (Advanced-Level)

  • Perform all Level II responsibilities with a focus on high-complexity cases.
  • Lead training and mentorship programs for junior and mid-level staff.
  • Provide expert-level support in resolving escalated eligibility issues.
  • Conduct advanced case reviews and contribute to process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance excellence through policy adherence and process enhancements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Level 2: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; specialist certification (HCV, PH, LIHTC) required and 5+ years of experience in housing eligibility.
  • Level 3: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced housing program certifications preferred and 10+ years of experience in housing eligibility.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Travel Requirements

  • No required travel; however, there may be opportunities for up to 10% travel for those interested in professional growth and career advancement.
