Job summary

CRi - Community Residences, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to support residents in Permanent Supportive Housing units. You will help individuals develop independent living skills and secure suitable housing, while coordinating with PSH teams and landlords.

You’ll conduct assessments, create personalized Housing Plans, and provide on-site support and trainings to promote housing stability. The role requires a valid driver’s license and experience in assessments and service

Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (social work or counseling preferred).
  • At least one year of experience in assessments and service plan development with individuals with SMI and I/DD diagnoses.
  • Strong understanding of treatment modalities, crisis intervention techniques, and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the Housing Plan with the individual through housing research, application process, and lease up and move-in. Provide on-site apartment support, community engagement and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Maintain effective documentation in compliance with regulations and CRi policies.
  • Teach essential skills for housing maintenance and independent living.
  • Assess and adapt to the needs of individuals, fostering supportive relationships.

Overview

CRi is seeking a dedicated Housing Specialist to provide essential support to residents living in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) units. Join our mission to empower individuals and foster community engagement.

What You’ll Do
  • Direct Support: Work hands-on with individuals in PSH units, helping them develop independent living skills and maintain their apartments.
  • Service Planning: Support individuals in locating suitable housing accommodations. Complete assessments and create personalized Housing Plans tailored to each individual’s strengths and needs.
  • Skills Development: Facilitate training programs focused on life skills, social determinants of health, and community engagement. Support individuals with obtaining legal documentation, income and budgeting needs.
  • Crisis Intervention: Identify behavioral changes early and provide timely support to prevent crises.
  • Collaborative Relationships: Build strong partnerships with PSH teams, landlords, and community agencies to ensure successful housing stability.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule & Location
  • Monday – Friday 10am–6pm (flexible hours; may require some weekend hours as needed)
  • Locations: Fairfax and Prince William Counties
Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
