Job summary

HASA is recruiting a Housing Specialist to manage HASA housing placements, conduct programmatic research, and assist vendors, case managers, and clients to secure suitable housing options such as Scattered-Sites and Congregate Shelter Housing.

The role requires reviewing policies, facilitating case conferences, and projecting housing costs while guiding clients through the housing process within NYC’s HASA framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required with progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience.
• Associate degree + 3 years of experience with supervisory exposure.
• High school diploma + 4 years of progressive clerical/administrative experience including supervisory experience.
• Education/experience equivalent with one year supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vacancies and contracts for HASA housing placements.
• Conduct programmatic research on housing facilities and referrals.
• Provide technical assistance to vendors and staff to meet HASA goals.
• Write housing specifications including location, type of housing, accessibility, and residence type.
• Project housing availability based on inspections and reports.
• Calculate needs for new apartment expenditures and cost projections.
