Job summary

Asian Law Caucus seeks a Housing Rights Staff Attorney (or Senior Staff Attorney) to lead legal representation for California tenants in the Bay Area, with emphasis on San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and Sacramento counties.

The role participates in multi-pronged housing defense, including impact litigation, policy advocacy, and know-your-rights education for low-income and immigrant tenants. It works with community coalitions to protect and advance housing rights.

Qualifications

• J.D. and California bar membership required.

Responsibilities

• Legal representation of California tenants and tenant groups, with a focus on Bay Area tenants and counties (San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Sacramento).
• Engage in multi-pronged housing defense including impact litigation, policy advocacy, and narrative change.
• Provide holistic legal services and know-your-rights education to low income and immigrant tenants at risk of displacement.
• Collaborate with community coalitions and tenants to advance housing rights.
