Job summary

Community Housing Network seeks a Housing Resource Administrative Specialist to support the Community Programs team, ensuring adherence to MSHDA and HUD guidance and internal workflows. This role audits participant files, gathers data for outcomes, and supports program delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social work or related field.
  • 2+ years in human services or related training/experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly compliance audit of participant files and applications.
  • Verify audited files are corrected.
  • Maintain up-to-date internal workflows per guidance (MSHDA/HUD).
  • Keep data accurate and up-to-date; assist in reports and tracking.
  • Serve as first contact for workshops and inquiries.
  • Attend workshops, including evenings/weekends as required.
  • Represent CHN at community events as needed.
  • Pursue ongoing training and stay current with program changes.

Housing Resource Analyst Specialist

Department: Community Programs

Reports to: Housing Resource Coordinator Supervisor

Salary: $41,600 per year

Job Description Summary:

Housing Resource Administrative Specialist will work closely with the Community Programs Housing Resource management team to ensure the department is complying with Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and Housing Urban Development (HUD) program guidance, as well as internal workflows, processes, and procedures. This includes auditing participant files and applications, updating workflows, gathering data for outcomes, and monitoring program delivery. This position will also assist in other department processes, as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete monthly compliance audit of participant files and applications.
  • Verify audited files have been appropriately corrected.
  • Ensure internal workflows are up-to-date and accurate based on MSHDA, HUD, andlocal CoCguidance.
  • Assist in keeping internal data up-to-date and accurate.
  • Prepare outcome reports, spreadsheets, and tracking materials as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all workshop inquires.
  • Attend workshops and group classes to ensure all required paperwork is gathered and completed accurately for participant files. This will include evening and weekend hours. In the field work for workshops, applications, and community events.
  • Participate in community-based activities when appropriate, representing Community Housing Network at community forums, workgroups, and events as requested. Some activities may include evening and weekend hours.
  • Continue to refine skills and stay abreast related to best practices and program changes through additional training and community events as requested.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Lived experience; or bachelor’s degree in social work or human services related field; or two years of human service-related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and services.
  • Capacity to work unsupervised, demonstrating self-motivation, reliability and efficiency while organizing and prioritizing a diversified workload.
  • Conduct self in professional behavior while handling confidential information documents.
  • Following program guidelines and program parameters, while demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changes and deadlines.
  • Possess proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Products and be well organized, proactive, and self-directed. Must also be attentive to details and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience interacting effectively with vulnerable populations (i.e., people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, at-risk of homelessness, and those who have a mental or physical health disability).
  • Valid driver’s license and personal automobile coverage limits minimum: Bodily Injury $100,000 each person, $300,000 each occurrence Property Damage $100,000 each occurrence.

Travel:

Some travel required within the community to serve individuals to meet them where they are at, community partner locations, shelters, off-site meetings, trainings, or organizational events that would require the use of your personal automobile.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position includes community-based work, in-office work and remote work (from home office).

While performing the functions of this job, the position is both sedentary and at times requires the ability to be active including standing, walking in the outside elements, in and out of vehicle bending, lifting and/or arranging files and office products and supplies and may require employee to periodically stand on a short step stool to access files.
