Job summary

New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) seeks a Housing Quality Enforcement Inspector to conduct inspections, collect data, and support HQS processes across NYCHA units transitioning to project-based assistance. Responsibilities include independent dwelling condition assessments, data entry, and equipment handling, with team-inspection options as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of related community work experience or
• High school graduation or equivalent with 6 years of related experience or
• Education/experience equivalent to 1/2 above, with at least 1 year of related experience

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections independently as to dwelling condition.
• Aim to perform 25 inspections per day as scheduled in a single development or neighborhood.
• Enter inspection data into Elite Database System.
• Carry equipment necessary to perform inspections.
• Communicate issues clearly to supervisor.
• May perform inspections in team when necessary.
