The City of Long Beach, Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting for one (1) unclassified Community Program Technician III to serve as a Housing Inspector in the Housing Authority Bureau. The Housing Program Inspector conducts physical inspections of assisted housing properties participating in Housing Authority programs to determine compliance with HUD’s National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) and Housing Authority requirements. The position reports to the Housing Authority building, 1500 Hughes Way Suite C‑300, Long Beach, CA 90810; however, the majority of the position's work is performed in the field at properties throughout the Housing Authority's service area. The position requires operating a City vehicle as transportation for regular travel to and between inspection sites and the ability to work independently in a variety of residential environments. Upon successful completion of the training period, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule in accordance with the City of Long Beach Hybrid Work Program Policy.
