About this opportunity:
Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army emergency housing program; guards the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with shelter rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
Key responsibilities:
What we are looking for in you:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. (preferred but not required) and six months experience working with the public, preferably in a security or social service environment, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting. Work is usually performed in a housing shelter environment where there are some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors and physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, and heat.
