Job summary

Brunswick Housing Authority seeks a Housing Inspector/Maintenance Tech in Brunswick, Maine to inspect dwellings under the Section 8 program and manage routine maintenance for housing units and facilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of property inspection and building maintenance.
• Experience with multifamily housing programs beneficial.
• Knowledge of HUD regulations, codes and procedures for inspected units.

Responsibilities

• Performs housing quality inspections and UPCS inspections on HCV units at initial lease up and annually.
• Responds to complaints affecting health and safety (overcrowding, cleanliness, infestation).
• Produces timely, descriptive inspection reports.
• Schedules inspections for BHA properties and Section 8 per HUD.
• Processes work orders for maintenance; maintains related records.
• Updates utility schedules and inputs data into the interoffice system.
• Performs basic repairs across building systems (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting).
• Inspects and maintains boilers and related equipment.
• Removes snow and ice; operates snow removal equipment.
• Performs landscaping including mowing and planting.
• Promotes positive relations with landlords and tenants.
