Job summary

Talantage, LLC is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the financial performance of housing and capital improvement programs on site in Oakland. The analyst will develop budgets, run analyses, and prepare recommendations for management.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least four years of affordable housing finance policy experience; expertise in Excel, Yardi, and Tableau is a plus; California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively responsible experience in affordable housing finance policy and implementation.
• Master’s degree may substitute for one year of required experience.
• A valid California Class C driver’s license and insurable driving record must be possessed.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate budget development process for assigned departments.
• Prepare, review, monitor and analyze departmental budgets and expenditures.
• Perform budget variance analyses and identify reasons for variances.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analyses and communicate findings verbally and in writing.
• Monitor spending to ensure compliance with limits set by budgets, contracts, and Board authorizations.
• Identify ways to improve property management-related financial processes and lead improvements with other departments.
