Job summary

Insight is seeking an experienced housing enforcement professional in the United States to perform property inspections and housing condition assessments, including HHSRS evaluations. You will handle complaints, propose interventions, and collaborate with landlords, HMO managers, and partner agencies to raise standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in private sector housing and housing enforcement or related field.
• Knowledge of HHSRS, HMO legislation and private sector housing legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property inspections and housing condition assessments, including HHSRS assessments.
• Investigate complaints and identify appropriate solutions and interventions.
• Work with landlords and HMO managers to improve standards and ensure compliance.
• Support licensing and enforcement activity, including notices, civil penalties and rent repayment orders where appropriate.
• Work closely with partner agencies including housing, planning, police, fire and rescue and trading standards.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
• Keep up to date with relevant housing legislation, guidance and best practice.
