Job summary

Community Family Advocates is seeking a part-time Housing Assistant to support Allegheny County DHS by helping clients apply for vital housing documents and managing submission, upload, and tracking workflows.

Responsibilities include coordinating with shelters and staff, updating clients on status, and ensuring accurate handling of records to minimize delays in obtaining housing. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in directly helping individuals apply for their records or submitting complex documents.
• Administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Helps staff the “document day” at one or more emergency shelter and assists clients in applying for replacement documents.
• Prepares letters for signature and assembles information packages, scans and uploads copies, and uses a tracking sheet.
• Communicates updates on document status to clients and shelter staff, and program leader.
• Helps clients solve problems related to their documents and raises issues when delays occur.
