Housing Coordinator I

Job Summary

Blue Valley Community Action is looking for a Housing Coordinator to join our team! This role is responsible to successfully administer government assistance programs related to housing acquisition, weatherization and housing rehabilitation. Duties may include determining eligibility for the weatherization program and housing rehabilitation program, provide oversight of maintenance and repairs to properties, assisting in property rental processes.

This is a customer service-oriented role that works directly with clients, contractors, and internal teams to provide essential housing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Qualify participants for weatherization and housing rehabilitation programs

  • Accept and process applications; verify income and eligibility

  • Serve as a liaison between clients, contractors, and program staff

  • Conduct routine inspections of rental units for compliance and safety

  • Address tenant maintenance concerns and issue work orders

  • Assist with marketing and leasing of rental units as needed

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and program documentation

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle

  • U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform physical tasks such as stooping and bending

  • Strong organization and communication skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, email, document handling)

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in housing, property management, or social services

  • Knowledge of weatherization or housing rehabilitation programs

  • Comfort working with diverse populations

Work Environment & Schedule

  • 36 hour work week - Standard weekday schedule with occasional evenings or weekends

  • Office and field-based work

  • Travel required within service area
