Qualifications

• Certification or training in code enforcement, housing inspection, property management, building inspection, or property rehabilitation.
• At least one year of field experience inspecting residential structures and properties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification preferred; other related certifications will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rental license applications and renewals and maintain records.
• Inspect residential properties for compliance with housing, building, fire, zoning, health, sanitation, and safety rules.
• Prepare inspection reports, notices of violation, and other documents for city actions.
• Monitor corrective work and conduct follow-up inspections for compliance.
• Coordinate enforcement actions with city staff and stakeholders.
