Job summary

NeighborImpact in Bend is seeking a Housing Advocate to empower individuals through personalized case management, guiding them toward self-sufficiency and stable housing with dignity.

You will screen clients, assess eligibility, connect them with community resources, and advocate for housing opportunities while maintaining thorough documentation. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred; if applicable, travel across the tri-county area is expected.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in social work, human services, or related field required.
  • One year of experience in case management or related services required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the tri-county area regularly using a personal vehicle required.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, access to reliable transportation, and background checks required.

Location: Bend

Compensation: $28.03/hour (plus $0.50/hour for bilingual Spanish)

Hours: Regular full-time (40 hours/week)

Benefits: 100% premium paid Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Agency paid Retirement plan (up to 6%), almost 2 weeks of vacation time accrued in your first year, plus 14 paid Holidays annually, and separate sick leave accrual

NeighborImpact Housing Overview

NeighborImpact's Housing program offers crucial assistance to individuals and families in need within Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson counties, as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. The program can provide eviction prevention and deposit assistance, prioritizing applications based on need rather than a first-come, first-served basis.

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Housing Advocate role involves providing personalized case management and support to clients, ensuring their self-sufficiency and stable housing. Key responsibilities include compassionately and professionally conducting screenings and assessments to determine program eligibility, connecting clients with community resources, and advocating for housing opportunities. Additionally, the Housing Advocate maintains precise client documentation and collaborates closely with the Client Services Manager to facilitate client success.

Requirements
Required
  • Associate’s degree in social work, human services, or related field required
  • One year of experience in case management or related services required, can include employment, internships, and long-term volunteer position
  • Ability to travel throughout the tri-county area regularly, even in inclement weather, using personal vehicle required
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Valid driver’s license
  2. Proof of current auto insurance
  3. Access to reliable transportation
  4. Satisfactory criminal background check
  5. Satisfactory motor vehicle records check
  • Required within 90 days of hire:
  1. Complete the Bloodborne Pathogens and Naloxone Training within 90 days
  2. First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  3. Satisfactory ORCHARDs background check completed post hire
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred
  • Professional experience in the field, or a related field, preferred
  • English/Spanish bilingual preferred
