Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Floor Housekeeping Attendant to assist room attendants on assigned floors with linen delivery, linen collection, and related duties. You may help with stripping linens, cleaning public areas, and responding to guests' requests for housekeeping supplies throughout the shift.

The role requires stamina for lifting up to 75 pounds and pushing up to 300 pounds, with a 24/7 operational environment including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills are required.
• Some housekeeping experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist room attendants on assigned floors with linen delivery and collection.
• Transport dirty linens to the laundry area and deliver fresh linens to carts.
• Assist with stripping linens and cleaning public areas.
• Respond to guests' requests for housekeeping supplies and deliver promptly.
• Monitor supplies and minimize waste in housekeeping areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas.
• Recycle newspapers and similar items when possible.

Your Day to Day

Assist room attendants on assigned floors; collect dirty linens and transport to laundry area, deliver fresh linens to room attendant carts throughout the day. May assist with stripping linens from room and/or the cleaning of public areas. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and housekeeping staff.

This position has overall responsibility for assisting room attendants on assigned floors.

You will assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens and deliver linens and other supplies to room attendants while maintaining cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas.

This important role responds to guests' requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies in a timely and efficient manner.

You will clean other designated areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas, and other public areas for assigned floors.

You will monitor and control supplies, amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.

You may collect newspaper and other items for recycling.

What We Need from You

In the hotel industry we cater for our guest needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even though a shift will be assigned, in occasions we may require working varying shift across a 7-day period, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.

Requirements include basic reading, writing and math skills. Some housekeeping experience is preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 300 pounds, frequently standing up and moving about the facility, frequently handling objects, and equipment to maintain the facility, frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling.
