Job summary

Embassy Suites Asheville Downtown is seeking a proactive Houseperson to maintain pristine public spaces and assist in guest room prep. You will support the housekeeping team by stocking carts, delivering supplies, and assisting with cleaning tasks to ensure a welcoming and flawless guest experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication with guests and colleagues.
• Physical stamina for cleaning tasks.
• Flexible shifts including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with stripping guest rooms by removing used linens, towels, and amenities for cleaning.
• Stock housekeeping carts with clean linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.
• Deliver clean linens and supplies to housekeeping closets and storage areas.
• Assist with cleaning tasks in guest rooms and public areas as directed by supervisors.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop floors, dust furniture in public areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste.
• Replenish supplies in public areas as needed.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and report maintenance issues as needed.

In this active, guest-focused role, you will be the ultimate guardian of our public spaces-prepping our lobby, hallways, and common areas so they are polished, welcoming, and ready for arriving guests. From maintaining pristine entryways to ensuring our shared spaces look immaculate, your hard work will set the stage for an exceptional stay. What You'll Do:

• Assist with stripping guest rooms by removing used linens, towels, and amenities in preparation for cleaning.
• Stock housekeeping carts with clean linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to ensure housekeeping staff are well-equipped.
• Deliver clean linens and supplies to housekeeping closets and storage areas as needed.
• Assist with cleaning tasks in guest rooms and public areas as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
• Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, clean stairways, and dust furniture and fixtures in public areas to maintain cleanliness.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a sanitary manner.
• Replenish supplies in public areas, such as towels and toiletries, as needed.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and maintenance-related tasks as assigned.Follow safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a clean, hazard-free environment.
• Report any maintenance issues or damage to hotel property through the hotel operations software.

What You'll Need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with guests and colleagues.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
