Level: Entry | Job Location: Williamsburg, VA 23185 | Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time | Salary Range: $15.75 - $16.75 hourly | Job Category: Hospitality - Hotel.

Position Overview

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and work areas. Duties include changing bed linens, emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, assisting room attendants with supplies and linens.

Responsibilities

• Strip rooms – remove bed linens, terry, and trash.
• Clean hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners.
• Dust fixtures, frames, and equipment.
• Polish metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets.
• Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Stock and deliver supplies.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Abide by regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Report to work for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Know and comply with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Perform other related duties as required.
