Job Overview
The Houseperson supports the Housekeeping team by collecting linens and garbage and performing routine cleaning projects. This role involves cleaning and maintaining areas inside and outside the hotel, including hallways and public spaces. Additional duties include delivering items to guest rooms and assisting guests with baggage.
Responsibilities
- Clean and organize back-of-house areas such as doors, walls, closets, lockers, and refreshment areas to maintain a clean environment.
- Clean designated areas including restrooms, public spaces, offices, and conference rooms by dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping, washing windows, and removing trash.
- Retrieve and dispose of trash from guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain a friendly, service-oriented approach in all guest and employee interactions.
- Ensure regular attendance and comply with safety and operational standards.
- Complete projects assigned by the Executive Housekeeper, including deep-cleaning tasks and special projects.
- Transport linens and supplies, and assist with room setups and other tasks as directed by management.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull 60 lbs., and stand for extended periods.
Qualifications
- Team player with a passion for hospitality.
- Customer-focused and adaptable to change.
- Effective communicator and attentive listener.
- Able to follow directions and work independently.
- Capable of exerting physical effort (lifting, reaching, standing).
- Preferred: 6 months of hospitality or service industry experience.
- Must be eager to contribute to a positive work culture.
