Job summary

Hawks Cay Resort in Marathon, FL is seeking a Houseperson to maintain cleanliness and guest comfort across restrooms, hallways, foyers and elevators. You will support housekeeping operations by restocking amenities, assisting with furniture movement, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Experience in hotel housekeeping is preferred, with a focus on thorough cleaning, attention to detail, and dependable teamwork to deliver exceptional guest service.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a hotel is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators.
• Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash from guest rooms.
• Polish and clean mirrors and door numbers.
• Turn mattresses and move furniture as assigned.
• Respond to guest questions and provide directions and information as requested.
• Report hazards and support safety procedures in emergencies.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.
• Assist shampooers with relocation of furniture.

Description

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and polishing the restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Skills

• Thoroughly clean restrooms, hallways, stairwells, foyers and elevators which includes vacuuming, dusting, polishing, straightening furniture and decor, cleaning/sanitizing surfaces and waste removal.
• Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash from guest rooms.
• Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
• Polish and clean mirrors, room numbers on guest room doors, and elevator doors.
• Obtain amenities and supplies for room attendants.
• Turn mattresses and move furniture as assigned by supervisor.
• Respond to guest questions and provide guest assistance, directions, and information as requested.
• Provide instruction/guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
• Support the department in any area that will maintain the building and guest service to hotel standards.
• Assist shampooers with the relocation of furniture.
• Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to the Safety/Security department.
• Must be ready to step in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Performs special assignments and projects as requested.
• Attend meetings/training as required by management.

Qualifications
