Job summary

Join the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago South-Lansing as a Housekeeping staff member responsible for maintaining cleanliness across various public areas of the hotel. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working independently and can follow a routine without supervision.

You will be tasked with ensuring cleanliness in restrooms, hallways, and lobby areas, along with managing inventory and assisting guests when necessary. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a hospitality environment, we want to hear from you!

Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness and safety of the public areas, both interior and exterior, of a multi-floored hotel. Duties fall under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping department. This position would be best suited to someone who could meet the following requirements.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

• Self‑starter, able to work for long periods without direct supervision
• Able to follow a routine daily, that is often repeated, without discouragement or boredom
• Responsible for the cleanliness of public restrooms, hallways, lobby area and rooms
• Responsible for maintaining inventory of the housekeeping storage
• Responsible for weekly inventory/ordering forms
• Responsible for cleanliness of exterior trash cans, walkways, parking lot, etc.
• Responsible for cleanliness of windows and doors
• Responsible for cleanliness of floors, both tiled and carpeted
• Responsible for the maintenance weekly of housekeeping equipment, ie vacuum cleaners, floor cleaners, etc.
• Completes assignments in a timely manner without constant supervision
• Assists guests when required, and maintains a positive customer service attitude
• Is able to follow a schedule, get to work on time without transportation issues
