Summary
Maintains the hotel's public areas, meeting rooms, and grounds in a high level of cleanliness and organization in accordance with company and franchise standards and provides excellent customer service to the hotel guests.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and sanitizes assigned public areas in accordance with company and franchise policy. Assists the executive housekeeper as needed with deliveries, cots, cribs, trash, etc., and assists front desk associates with deliveries to guest and meeting rooms and cleaning of guest rooms after hours.
- Prepares and sets up meeting rooms in accordance with the function sheets.
- Ensures hotel equipment, such as carts, vacuums, and A/V equipment, are maintained properly and secured.
- Ensures cleaning supplies and chemicals are used properly and all bottles are properly labeled in accordance with the chemical policy.
- Provides excellent customer service to hotel guests, conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times, observes the company's 10‑4 rule, and immediately addresses guest requests.
- Properly attired in uniform and nametag in accordance with franchise and company grooming and uniform policy.
- Communicates with superiors and co‑workers about the status of guest requests and assigned tasks.
- Provides safety and security for the hotel and its guests, alerts staff and guests to unsafe conditions, follows company safety and security policies, observes and participates in hotel key‑control procedures, is familiar with the hotel emergency plan, and confidently participates in emergency training procedures. Observes guest and hotel confidentiality procedures.
- Uses the hotel's safe‑lifting procedures and reports all incidents and injuries to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provides input and ideas on the operation of the hotel, participates in training initiatives and skill development.
- Completes any other task requested by a supervisor, including training new associates.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and recognize numbers, comprehend signs and symbols.
- Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense when understanding both written and oral instructions.
Education
High school diploma preferred but not required.
Certification
None required.
Physical Demands
- Moderate to heavy physical effort at least 95% of the day.
- Possible exposure to chemicals or other institutional cleaning agents.
- Consistent and frequent reaching for, modifying, positioning, and handling objects.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to maneuver heavy boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to effectively work in confined spaces around furniture and breakable objects.
