America's Thrift Stores is seeking diligent Custodian(Housekeeper) to maintain a clean, safe retail environment and deliver friendly customer service. This role emphasizes self-motivation, time management, and adaptability to day-to-day store operations.

Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, stocking supplies, and reporting maintenance concerns, while upholding safety policies and professional interactions with customers and donors.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.

• Able to accurately keep records and communicate progress to management.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing, and housekeeping duties throughout the store to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and team members.
• Utilize cleaning carts and other equipment to safely transport cleaning supplies and materials throughout the facility.
• Properly label, store, handle, and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with company policies and established safety procedures.
• Clean and disinfect assigned areas, including restrooms, break rooms, sales floors, loading docks, processing areas, and other operational spaces.
• Clean, wipe, and dust high-touch surfaces, fixtures, equipment, and other designated areas throughout the store.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors to ensure cleanliness and reduce potential safety hazards.
• Monitor and replenish restroom supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and other necessary items.
• Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and other waste from designated areas throughout the facility.
• Identify and promptly report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, spills, or other facility issues to management.
• Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and work areas in an organized and sanitary condition.
• Follow all company safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards while performing assigned duties.
• Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with customers, donors, and fellow team members.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support store operations.

Position Title: Custodian(Housekeeper) - Retail

POSITION SUMMARY

America's Thrift is currently seeking Custodians! We are looking for self-starters who are eager to join a company committed to partnering with charities to make a positive impact in our communities. We are specifically seeking organized individuals who are self-motivated, excel in time management, and can adapt seamlessly to day-to-day responsibilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the workday on hard surfaces, including tile and concrete.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including trash, cleaning supplies, and other materials.
• Must be able to push and pull up to 25 pounds, including cleaning carts, equipment, and supplies.
• Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and reach at waist and overhead levels while performing cleaning and sanitation duties.
• Must have the ability to climb and maintain balance when using approved ladders or equipment, as required to clean or access elevated areas.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning supplies, equipment, trash, and properly labeled cleaning chemicals in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Must possess sufficient manual dexterity and hand/arm coordination to sweep, mop, wipe, dust, scrub, stock supplies, empty trash containers, and operate cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and upper-body movements associated with routine cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Must have sufficient vision to identify spills, debris, cleanliness concerns, safety hazards, labels, and other conditions requiring attention.
• Must have sufficient hearing and communication ability to interact with customers and team members and respond to instructions, announcements, and potential safety concerns.
• Ability to work in a retail and operational environment that may include exposure to dust, dirt, odors, cleaning products, and varying noise levels.
• Must be able to work in indoor areas with semi-controlled temperatures and occasionally in outdoor areas with varying weather and temperature conditions.
• Ability to maintain the physical stamina necessary to perform cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the scheduled shift.
• Must be able to work regular and weekend hours, with the ability to work evenings and holidays as business needs require.
