The role you’ll contribute:

Provides supervision for the daily functions and activities within the environmental services department. Responsible for supervising EVS staff to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met for the hospital and adjacent facilities. Promotes teamwork to ensure work is completed timely and helps maintain an efficient and safe working environment. Assumes responsibility for day, evening, or night shift operations of the EVS department and related responsibilities.

• Assigns duties to ensure work tasks are accomplished efficiently and ensures that adequate staff and supplies are available for the shift
• Reviews procedures to ensure they remain in compliance. Ensures compliance with JCAHO, DNV, Federal, State, and Local regulations and standards
• May prepare, evaluate, and control the department's annual budget
• Regularly surveys departmental procedures for adherence to acceptable cleaning practices
• Supervises all staff by assigning work, training, hiring, evaluating performance, implementing progressive discipline, and recommending termination as appropriate
• Resolves patient satisfaction concerns in a timely manner
• May be responsible for clean linen distribution
• May maintain all tracking and accountability of linen supplies
• May develop annual goals and objectives for environmental services consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the organization
