Best Western Royal Plaza Hotel & Trade Center in Marlborough, MA is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Supervisor to support the hotel’s housekeeping, inspection and laundry operations, ensuring high cleanliness standards and efficient daily workflow.

The role leads a team of room attendants, coordinates schedules, inspects guest rooms, communicates maintenance needs, maintains inventory, and upholds safety and service quality in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Experience in housekeeping/room’s division preferred.
• Must speak/read/write English and understand guest language.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary Range: $17.00 To $18.00 Hourly

Position Summary:Assist in the management and operation of Housekeeping, Inspecting and Laundry departments to ensure maximum profitability and quality service.

Task and Job Duties:

• Coordinate activities of the housekeepers and inspectors to ensure that uniform operational practices are followed and that practices are in conformity with departmental practices.
• Formulate plans and establish work schedule for employees to ensure equal distribution of workload, and revise schedules as required.
• Perform detailed inspections of all guest rooms (vacant, check-outs and occupied alike), instructs on necessary corrections that need to be made.
• Communicates all maintenance and repair needs to the Manager of Engineering and follows through to completion.
• Plan and provide care for housekeeping equipment, guest rooms and building furnishings. Maintaining accurate records of deep cleaning and preventative maintenance of all hotel common areas.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and neatness of all hotel common areas.
• Counsel employees on job performance and discipline. Discuss with employees grievance matters, suggestions and complaints. Recommend appropriate action.
• Conduct on-the-job training for all assigned personnel. Develop training for cleaning all types of floors, proper methods of dusting, sweeping, waxing, buffing, cleaning of guest rooms, washing walls and carpet shampooing.
• Regularly inspect work performed and ensure that standards are being met and maintained.
• Responsible for maintaining a perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment to employees as required and verifying orders as they are received. Responsible for the inventorying of linen and bedding. Maintain record of materials used. Prepare monthly and periodic inventory reports. Correct waste, misuse or abuse of supplies or equipment.
• Ensure good safety practices of employees throughout the hotel assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures. Investigate accidents and initiate accident reports. Recommend corrective action as required. Maintain first aid supplies. Responsible to ensure safe working conditions in assigned areas.
• Encourage work simplification, efficiency, and general pride in work performed.
• Assist with any special projects.

Prerequisites:

• Experience: Housekeeping / room’s division experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace and by guests who frequently visit the workplace. Must have working knowledge in the word processing programs, Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Physical: Requires excellent written, verbal and listening skills, eye for detail and perfection, proficiency in customer service and employee relations. Also entails much walking, bending, stooping, carrying, reaching and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Must be able to handle multi-task projects at one time.
