Job summary

Healthwin Health and Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN, seeks a Director of Housekeeping to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations of our skilled nursing facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

You will supervise staff, develop schedules, enforce cleaning and infection prevention standards, coordinate with nursing and maintenance, and contribute to hiring and staff development. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising housekeeping in healthcare or long-term care.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and leadership.
• Knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, infection prevention, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations throughout the facility.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and support housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Develop and maintain cleaning schedules and ensure assigned duties are completed.
• Monitor cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, offices, dining areas, and other facility spaces.
• Ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures are followed.
• Maintain adequate supplies and manage inventory of housekeeping and laundry products.
• Inspect work areas regularly to ensure facility cleanliness and quality standards are maintained.
• Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, dietary, and other departments to address environmental needs.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development.
• Address resident and family concerns related to housekeeping services in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supervising and scheduling staff.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, infection prevention, and safety practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and leadership.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing a team.
• Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and resident care.
