The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily housekeeping operation to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces consistently meet hotel cleanliness, presentation, safety, and brand standards. This position provides hands‑on leadership to the housekeeping team, coordinates daily assignments, monitors productivity and quality, and responds promptly to changing occupancy and operational demands in a fast‑paced extended‑stay hotel environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize and prioritize daily housekeeping activities based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, room status, and operational needs
  • Assign rooms and tasks to Room Attendants, Housepersons, and other housekeeping team members according to workload and staffing levels
  • Monitor room status throughout the day and maintain effective communication with Front Office, Maintenance, and management regarding room readiness, maintenance needs, guest requests, and operational priorities
  • Adjust assignments and priorities as business needs change, including high‑occupancy periods, unexpected arrivals, early check‑ins, and urgent room requests
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and housekeeping spaces; address deficiencies promptly and verify that corrective action is completed
  • Lead, coach, and support housekeeping employees, fostering teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment that drives consistent performance and professional guest service
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate priorities, room assignments, special requests, and operational updates
  • Train new and existing employees on housekeeping procedures, safety practices, cleaning standards, equipment use, and hotel expectations
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, work quality, and adherence to procedures; provide constructive feedback and elevate concerns to management as appropriate
  • Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and maintained to brand standards, with particular attention to high‑touch areas, bathrooms, kitchens, living spaces, and other extended‑stay features
  • Respond professionally to guest concerns, requests, and special accommodations, and partner with management to resolve issues promptly
  • Protect guest privacy and security by following proper room‑entry, lost‑and‑found, and key‑control procedures
  • Manage housekeeping supplies, linen, and amenities by maintaining appropriate stock levels, communicating replenishment needs, and controlling usage to minimize waste without compromising service standards
  • Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly used, cleaned, and stored
  • Enforce safe work practices, including the proper use and handling of cleaning chemicals, hazardous materials, equipment, and personal protective equipment, in accordance with OSHA, brand, and company safety procedures
  • Promptly report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, hazards, accidents, injuries, and security concerns
  • Maintain organized and sanitary housekeeping closets, storage areas, laundry areas, and back‑of‑house spaces
  • Use the hotel property management system (PMS), Microsoft Office, and other hotel systems to support daily operations and business objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of hotel housekeeping experience required
  • Previous housekeeping supervisory or lead experience preferred, particularly in a high‑volume, limited‑service, or extended‑stay hotel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and organize a team while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Schedule

Work schedules are based on the operational needs of the business. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for this position.

Fast‑paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 250lbs. often for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.

Grooming

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.
