Job summary

Cedar House is seeking a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations and ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role oversees housekeeping and laundry staff, schedules shifts, trains new hires, conducts evaluations, and maintains records while upholding confidentiality and guest well-being. Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of supervisory housekeeping experience and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of housekeeping experience, supervisory preferred.
• Education: 12 years or GED; hospitality coursework preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification maintained.

Responsibilities

• Supervises housekeeping and laundry staff.
• Schedules all staff and approves time off.
• Ensures training and orientation on policies and procedures.
• Maintains coaching, corrective action, and performance records.
• Inspects rooms and public areas for cleanliness and quality.
• Prepares reports on operations and staff performance.
• Facilitates monthly departmental meetings.

DUTY STATEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises the following positions:
• Housekeeping
• Laundry
• Improving staff development through recommendations for training seminars and education
• Complete performance evaluations as needed for all direct reports
• Responsible for scheduling all staff, including approval of time off/vacation requests
• Ensure all staff are properly trained and orientated to job responsibilities as well as policies and procedures
• Maintain records of Verbal Coaching, Corrective Action Plans, and Performance Improvement Plans

Job Functions

• Inspect client rooms, offices, public areas, and facilities for cleanliness and quality standards.
• Laundry supervision and linen ordering.
• Train new employees on cleaning procedures and safety practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and order cleaning supplies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Handle client/staff complaints related to housekeeping services.
• Prepare reports on housekeeping operations and staff performance.
• Assign tasks and monitor job efficiency
• Facilitate and document monthly departmental meetings

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

• 1-3 years of housekeeping experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in hotels, resorts, healthcare facilities, or commercial cleaning operations is an advantage.

Education

• Completed twelve years of education or have a GED.
• Hospitality, hotel management, or related coursework preferred.
• Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates.
• Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED.
