HMR Veterans Services in Anderson, SC, is hiring a dedicated Housekeeping Staff member to support daily operations in a healthcare setting, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

You will perform routine cleaning, sanitize bathrooms, polish fixtures, handle waste, and follow infection-control procedures under supervision. The role includes lifting up to 25 lbs and working full-time in a hospital-like environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must follow written and oral instructions, make independent decisions, and accept constructive feedback.
• Must interact tactfully with residents, families, staff, visitors, and regulatory personnel.
• Must maintain cleanliness, equipment, and safety standards in resident rooms and housekeeping areas.
• Must work well with others, relate to diverse resident needs, and handle physically/emotional demanding situations.
• Must lift/move up to 25 lbs and assist with emergency evacuations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
• Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
• Empty and sanitize ash trays daily.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entry/exit ways.
• Clean floors, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting.
• Clean carpets, vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators.
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
• Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
• Ensure work areas and equipment are stored properly.
• Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with infection control procedures.
• Discard infectious wastes into appropriate containers.
