Description

The EVS Project Tech reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Cleans and services hospital. Performs a variety of duties to maintain the hospital in an orderly, safe and sanitary condition. Completes project duties including hard surface and carpet care, wall washing, and hanging of cubicle curtains.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned restoration of hard surface resilient floor care. Procedures include stripping, shower scrubbing, finish application and burnishing of floors. Performs assigned cleaning procedures on all soft surface floors (carpet). Procedures include vacuuming, damp buffing, hot water extraction and dry enzyme process, and spot extraction.
  • Projects to include, but not limited too: upholstery cleaning, wall washing, cubicle curtain/drapes (assembly/disassemble), light cleaning and ledge cleaning.
  • Completes Altrapure (disinfecting system) process to all assigned patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical and treatment areas and ancillary areas.
  • Responsibilities include assignment and tracking of rooms, set-up, machine operations and breakdown. Exhibits proficient technical knowledge of department equipment, chemicals, safety and policies/procedures. Uses equipment and chemicals in a safe and effective manner. Practices safety measures by utilizing wet floor signs, PPE and other safety procedures.
  • Is able to perform duties of the Environmental Services Tech, Sanitation Tech or the Service Associate when needed.
  • Has above standard knowledge of the department's equipment, chemicals, policies and procedures. Uses chemicals and equipment in an effective and safe manner. Uses appropriate chemicals, diluted at the correct ratio, in properly labeled containers.
  • Performs assigned restoration of hard-surface floor care procedures, including stripping, refinishing, shower scrubbing and burnishing floors. Completes assigned carpet care procedures, including damp buffing, shampooing and extracting.
  • Promotes safety in the workplace. Uses wet floor signs, PPE, etc. Follows established infection control and isolation guidelines; uses standard precautions.
  • Performs additional work and projects as assigned by manager or supervisor.
  • Exhibits the ability to articulate designed scripting model to each customer we serve.
  • Takes pride in their professional image and adheres to the departmental uniform standards.
  • Smiles and greets all customers.
  • Understands what is expected of them and their role in achieving departmental and hospital goals.
  • Presents themselves in a positive manner, both verbal and nonverbal communication skills, and the stated values are reflected in their behavior.
  • Listens to our customers, learns of their needs and responds to their requests.
  • Recognizes the contribution of others, and treats all patients, visitors and co-workers with respect.
  • Identifies defects within the facility, and accepts personal responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe environment (pick-up, point-out and protect club).
  • Maintains clean and organized equipment, carts and work area and does not leave equipment unattended.
  • Executes every task to deliver exceptional service and always looks for ways to improve our services.
  • Shows empathy towards our customers and fellow employees and utilizes that information to better understand their needs.
  • Has the attitude “If I receive a complaint, I will own it and immediately resolve it '.
  • Protects the privacy of our patients, visitors, guests and fellow co-workers.
  • Supports fellow co-workers by modeling a behavior of teamwork and lateral service so the needs of guests and each other are met.
  • Is empowered to meet the needs of our customers, to personally handle their issues or complaints, and delivers service recovery that turns mistakes into memories.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Must be able to read English and understand equipment manuals
  • Physical Demands: Requirement:
    • Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
